Sydney's Big Moment!

Sydney lost her first tooth in the middle of her bottom row...she was beyond thrilled! We had to write a note to the tooth fairy to explain what happened, because there was no tooth to put under her pillow(we're guessing that she swallowed it, but she does not want to believe that!) Syd with her note back from the tooth fairy, and her $1.00 bill!

The very next day she lost the tooth right beside it! She made sure to hang onto this one!

Winter Happenings

Sydney finished her session of gymnastics and is moving up to Level 3 Advanced after Christmas

Legacy Ball

Ryan & I went to Algona last weekend to surprise his mom and dad for the Algona Hospital fundraiser dinner and dance. They were the honorary chairs of the event. We had a great time and were able to leave the kids with a trusted friend here in Kansas City and enjoyed a night out by ourselves! I thought it was so fun to dress up....Ryan...not so much!

Fall Fun!

Sydney loves to hold Reese, it was a little scary at first, but I have to admit that she does a pretty good job of it!

Ryan & I got to get away last weekend and tailgate at the Iowa Homecoming game, it was freezing, but tons of fun!

I can't explain how proud I was to have Sydney come and read to my kindergarten class this week...it's one of those perks you get when you teach at the school your kids attend!

Growing up

Bennett is such a great big brother and Reese absolutely loves him!!!

Sydney did the Liberty High School cheerleading clinic and had a great time cheering and dancing at the Blue Jay football game!

Reese has made another milestone...eating cereal for the first time! She actually did pretty well with it and swallowed most of it. Is it terrible that I haven't had time to give it to her again since that night??

Soccer season is in full swing!

Sydney is playing fall soccer this year and loving it! They have moved to the U7 division so they have a co-ed team now, goalies, and play on a full-size field. All of these things are proving to make things a little more difficult, but after a great victory today, her comment was, "I even pushed somebody Mom!" We're working on her being a little more aggressive...does this make us bad parents??

Ben has made his soccer debut this fall as well at the Bitty Soccer program at the community center. He has had a great time, and I can't help but chuckle every week when we put on his shin guards(which look much more like knee or thigh guards on him)!

Milestones

Reese has recently started accomplishing some very fun things(of course now that I am back to work!) She has officially found her toes and loves to hang onto them like a little chimp...
...and she is way too mature for the bouncy seat, and gets bored in there very quickly, so has graduated to the much more exciting exersaucer!!!

Bennett, Sydney, & I went to the Royals game with my coworkers last Friday night, the kids had a lot of fun and we stayed until the very end to watch the fireworks! A very late night, but definitely worth it...

Tuck-in Time

We have started a nightly ritual of having Reese tuck in her brother and sister, they would rather have hugs and kisses from her than me now!

7 years of bliss!

Can hardly believe it's been 7 years of marriage and going on 10 years of being with Ryan, time certainly does fly when you're having fun! Looking back it seems like yesterday that we were chatting it up in the aisle of the Fareway grocery store one Friday night...

Sydney started 1st grade today! She looked so grown up and was so ready to go this morning! It's sad not knowing what she's doing everyday now, but it gives us more to talk about at the end of the day!
